Make-Up FAQs

  • Make-up – Does Eclectic provide a mobile make-up service?

Yes, we have two makeup artists on the team that would be happy to travel to you on the morning of your wedding. A travel fee would be added to the cost of your bridal package depending on the distance from the salon to your desired location. All consultations and makeup trials would take place at our Eclectic beauty salon, which hosts a state-of-the-art makeup room, complete with mirrored lights, high-end makeup chairs and a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere. Should you wish to have your makeup trial and consultation at home that can also be arranged. Again, a travel fee would be added accordingly.

  • Other than cosmetic make-up applications are there any other make-up services available?

Yes! Our makeup artists are skilled in both beauty and special FX makeup. Eclectic offers 1-2-1 and group makeup lessons for anyone who would like to know how to best apply their eyeshadow or would like to book a makeup Fx group session for a birthday. Get in touch for more details and pricing. A maximum of 8 people for group sessions.

  • Wedding Make-up – How far in advance do I need to book my wedding makeup?

At Eclectic we would advise our clients to book as early as possible to avoid disappointment. This would apply to bridal makeup and our 1-2-1 and group makeup lessons.

We take makeup bookings as far in advance as 18 months. Our make-up artists are at their busiest during the weekend, but please rest assured we will do our best to accommodate you.

  • How far in advance should I have my consultation and trial before my wedding day?

We recommend that you book your makeup trial 6-8 weeks before your wedding day

  • I have left it quite late to book the make-up for my wedding, which is in a few weeks! Will Eclectic be able to help me

Of course! Simply get in touch as soon as possible and our makeup artists will check their availability and advise you.

  • Do I have to have a consultation and trial for my wedding make-up?

Ideally, yes. Your consultation and trial will be included as part of your makeup package and is designed to allow both you and your makeup artist the opportunity to discuss the look you would like on your special day. A consultation is a great opportunity for you to get to know one another, so you feel comfortable and confident in the makeup chair. Your makeup artist will happily give you

feedback on your chosen ‘look’ and in return, welcome any feedback from you should you wish to make any changes at any stage along the way.

Makeup is such a personal experience but please rest assured that the artists at Eclectic will listen to your needs and use their expertise to advise you.

  • How can I best prepare for my trial and wedding day makeup?

At Eclectic, we understand how stressful planning a wedding can be and we want to ensure our clients that their well-being is our top priority. Eclectic has many treatment rooms designed to relax and de-stress a busy bride-to-be. Why not book in for a seaweed bath or deep tissue all over body massage? Some of our bridal packages offer a refreshing Epionce facial. Alternatively, you can treat yourself to a derma-planning session with an Epionce Lite Refresh Peel. This combination treatment is suitable for all skin types and like all Epionce products, is cruelty-free.

We recommend having the derma-plan treatment 1 month before your wedding to allow your skin to restore and look flawless on the day.

In addition to preparing your skin prior to your trial, please feel free to bring along some images of makeup looks that have piqued your interest, to give your makeup artist an idea of what you would like. If you are unsure, however, please do not worry. Your makeup artist will be more than happy to advise you.

Please arrive makeup-free and moisturised for your trial.

  • How long do trials take?

    Approximately 1.5 - 2 hrs.

At Eclectic, our make-up artists will want to ensure that they are creating the perfect look for you. During the trial, they will take notes of the products used which they will then refer to on the day of your wedding.

  • I would like a spray tan before the wedding, will it affect the make-up?

Not at all! Your makeup artist will be highly trained in colour matching skin tones, so they will ensure your foundation blends seamlessly with your tan.

At Eclectic we offer Vita Liberata tanning, so feel free to book a session with one of our specialists to discuss your desired shade and when best to arrange an appointment.

  • How many people in my party can I have for make-up on the day?

Ideally, a maximum of 6 people will ensure there is enough time for everyone to have their makeup applied professionally on the day.

  • What is the difference between the Silver, Golden and Ruby makeup packages?

Please refer to our bridal makeup packages on the Eclectic website for more details.

  • Which make-up brands do you use?

At Eclectic we are proud advocates of cruelty-free makeup products, such as: Epionce, Charlotte Tilbury, Ben Nye, Kryolan, Urban Decay, Bare Minerals, Senna and Too Faced, to name a few!

  • I have sensitive skin. Will Eclectic’s make-up brands be suitable for me?

At Eclectic, we pride ourselves on using quality, high-end skin care and makeup products, suitable for all skin types. If you have any concerns regarding skin-sensitivity, please inform your makeup artist prior to, during or after your makeup trial

  • Is there an extra charge for Sundays or Bank Holiday weddings?

An additional £50 charge will be applied on Sundays and bank holidays such as Easter, Christmas and New Year.

  • Do I need to pay a deposit? If so, how much?

Yes, please. A £100 non-refundable deposit will be required at the time of booking to secure your date. Unfortunately, wedding and trial dates cannot be held until a deposit is paid in full, thank you.

  • When do I pay for the final balance?

The remaining balance will be due 1 month before the date of your wedding.

  • What happens if I need to change/cancel my booking with you?

If you need to cancel or make changes to your booking, please contact your makeup artist at Eclectic as soon as possible. We will always do our best to try and accommodate any changes.

  • Can I change the services I require nearer to the wedding day?

Yes, however it is advised that any changes are made no later than 1 month before the date of your wedding, so that our makeup artists can best prepare for your day and work out makeup start times, etc, and if we will need to hire an assistant makeup artist, should your bridal party numbers increase.
